About The Rat Pack
The Rat Pack was the name used by the Hollywood media and the general public and adopted by the group. They were iconic figures in the 1960s. The epitome of cool. They had elegance, panache, glamour, and an allure of je-ne-sais-quois recklessness.
Sinatra was the "Voice"; Martin was the happy-go-lucky, dashing crooner and resident wit; Lawford was a handsome Hollywood leading man and brother-in-law of JFK; Bishop was the comedian; and song-and-dance man "Smokey" Davis – "Mr. Wonderful" – was perhaps the most talented of the lot.
The name was first believed to be used by Humphrey Bogarts wife Lauren Bacall.
After seeing her husband return home with Sinatra and pals saying, "what a Ratpack".
